IEQ
Industries now offers
Robotic clean up for the Waste
Industry

Now you can clean up almost any tank or chamber
without dewatering or downtime with IEQ's remote robotics
system (RRS).
RRS is a tethered, hydraulically-powered, track-driven
work platform with a folding frame chassis that allows it
to fit through confined accessways as small as 22.5
inches (0.57 meters) in diameter. Modeled after
bulldozers and backhoes from the construction industry,
and hardened to work in nuclear and other hazards, RRS
features:
A practical, rugged, intuitive work platform
RRS's rugged design and sturdy construction make it
well-suited for the rigors of waste mobilization and
other heavy work tasks. A reliable, cost-effective work
platform, RRS achieves desired performance with minimal
risk.

Safe, efficient design
RRS's reliable actuation systems, low-voltage
servovalving, inherent spark-proof hydraulic operation,
environmentally-safe hydraulic fluid, and self-collapsing
capability (under gravity) for fail-safe removal, make
for a system that's safe and efficient to operate.
Reliable mobility and efficient material
mobilization
RRS can travel on, over, and through materials ranging in
consistency from concrete to sludge to liquid. What's
more, the system is fully-submersible, allowing proven
material handling techniques to be performed on tank
contents. As mentioned above, RRS also provides simple,
familiar material handling similar to conventional
earth-moving equipment, such as bulldozers and backhoes.

Compatible with standard retrieval technologies
RRS is a substantial work platform that works in
conjunction with a variety of dislodging, retrieval, and
conveyance technologies.

Originally designed to support the retrieval of
nuclear waste from the U.S. Department of Energy storage
tanks, RRS has been successfully used for that purpose in
numerous tanks at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
